Excerpt from Aubrey Beardsley
From an early age he shewed an aptitude for drawing. He began his education at a Kinder garten. He was seven years old when the first symptoms of delicacy appeared, and he was sent to a preparatory school at Hurst pierpoint, where he was remarkable for his courage and extreme reserve. Threatened with tuberculosis, he was moved for his health to Epsom in 1881. In March 188 3 his family settled in London, and Beardsley made his first public appearance as an infant musical phenomenon, playing at concerts in company with his sister. He had a great knowledge of music, and always spoke dogmatically on a subject, the only one he used to say, of which he knew anything. He became attracted at.

This review is for the paperback version of this book. I made the assumption that the paperback version would be the same as the hardcover version that got great reviews from other buyers.A large portion of the book must have been left out of the paperback version. Although the description says it is 56 pages, while probably technically accurate, the paperback version contains exactly 31 pages of content. Besides pages such as ads for the publisher, title pages, copyright pages, table of contents, many blank pages, etc. there are only 21 pages of text and ONLY 10 illustrations, which are small and very poor quality. This must be a mistake because the included list of Illustrations in the Table of Contents lists and names 64 Illustrations, but the book only contains numbers 1–10.
I will definitely be returning this. There is no way it's worth $10. What a nuisance.

Aubrey Beardsley Classic Reprint Robert Baldwin Ross 9781332413416 Books Reviews
The contents page lists quite a few illustrations, however, none appeared in my download. Not sure if that was a problem in the download or how the book was set up, but as they say - "a picture is worth a thousand words"; and I don't have any. A bit pointless really.
Great large hardcover book. Lots too look at. Worth it
I was shocked by how thick this book is and how good the condition is! This book even have a transparent cover! I looooove it for it containing so many pieces of Beardsly's work!
i'm pretty sure this is his complete works. i LOVE IT. best thing i got this christmas. it includes all kinds of stuff, like early sketches, book covers, etc. TONS of plates, large sizes, most of them take up a whole page. nothing is worse than buying a huge art book and all the pictures are tiny- NOT THE CASE HERE. full page illustrations and tons and tons of them. there are even blown up images of the tiny grotesques from the corners of pages, and images of his cool fonts and stuff. you will not be disappointed!!!!
Perfect
The Book AUBREY BEARDSLEY is a wonderful account of this 19th century artist and illustrator. The plates of his prints are fantastic. I was influenced by him as a young artist and i am grateful to get this book again ( i had it years ago but it was stolen) and keep it in my collection.
whimsical and informative; very enjoyable
